Amston Supply: deeply ‘rooted’ in the trailer business
Amston Supply Inc., a Clement distributor located in Caledonia, Wisconsin, has roots deep within its community. “Our dealership is built on farmland that my father, Leo Sr., acquired in 1914,” states Lee Hribar, who is owner and president of Amston.
“My father, Leo, was very creative and a good businessman who watched trends and developments in the industry very closely. His interest in an increased payload with a three-axle dump truck led him to the original design of the pup trailer, which he licensed to Clement in 1961 (he obtained a patent in 1963). Consequently, Amston has a long history of selling Clement pups (and other Clement products) that comes from my father’s original design.”
Amston Supply was founded in 1979 as an equipment leasing company. In 1995, Amston officially became a full-line Clement trailer distributor. Amston still has descendants in key positions. The father of seven children, Lee Hribar has three sons active in the company. Michael Hribar is the firm’s equipment sales manager, and Mark Hribar handles the engineering required for equipment modifications and installations performed in the service department, as well as the mounting of Clement dump bodies. Their service facility is well supported by a parts operation that is active across the Midwest. Because of Amston’s long history with pup trailers, they maintain a full stock of pup parts, and regularly ship parts to several states in the area.
The Hribars are very proud to still be distributing Clement products for three generations.
